MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS |
Provincial Kinesiology Associations (PKAs) The CKA’s structure is based on member organizations, namely provincial kinesiology associations. A Kinesiologist must become a member of their provincial association. The Canadian Kinesiology Alliance works with a broad group of stakeholders that include industry, government, and not-for-profit/professional association groups. Given that the mandate of the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance is national in scope, over the years the CKA / ACK has worked hard to build mutually beneficial and cooperative relationships with provincial associations and groups.

Why PKAs are Members
PKAs, as organizational members of the CKA, advance the profession in a variety of ways. The Canadian Kinesiology Alliance collaborates with the provincial kinesiology associations to bring about increased recognition and awareness of kinesiology and the sciences of human movement, to advocate on behalf of our partners and stakeholders, and to support common standards and professionalism. Nationally, the CKA is the strong and united voice of Kinesiologists. As member organizations of the CKA, PKAs benefit from the following:
On a national level, the CKA / ACK represents ten (10) provincial kinesiology associations (PKAs) that are member associations and over 5,000 Kinesiologists by developing progressive partnerships with other national organizations, by providing support to effect positive change within government and public policy, and by promoting the science of kinesiology. The CKA / ACK advances our member associations, PKAs, by facilitating national and interprovincial communication and partnerships and by supporting and encouraging ongoing development of PKAs. The CKA / ACK establishes and promotes the standards of the profession across Canada. |
